Guess What This Is?

Today Emily bought in some very old things from home! Room 11 looked at them with our detective eyes and felt them. We had to try and guess what they were. The iron was easy to work out (clearly we have lots of mums and dads who iron at home!!) the cream scoop was much harder to guess. Andrew wrote some fabulous clues to help us guess what is was.

Our Monarch Caterpillar Hatched!!

Today we were writing some stories about what we thought would happen when our Monarch caterpillar hatched out of it's chrysalis.
While we were writing we noticed it had hatched out!! It's wings were very wrinkly and wet. This afternoon we decided to paint our own Monarch Butterfly paintings. Mrs Fritchley loved how our paintings all looked so different!!

Today Mrs Fritchley bought the baby bantam chicks to school. We were a little bit nervous at first, but we found out that they are friendly and love cuddles. We wrote some cool stories using wow words. Come in and read our stories!!

Mrs Wishy Washy

Room 11 have enjoyed reading the big book "Mrs Wishy-Washy" this week. The children made a mask that matched one of the characters in the book. We acted out the book using clear voices and expression. We performed our play for our buddies and at Junior Assembly. We were very proud of ourselves.

We are learning about what life was like 100 years ago. Some of the children have brought in some things from home to share. Can you guess what these thing are?

The Holy Spirit

In Room 11 we have been learning about the Holy Spirit. We can't see the Holy Spirit but we know that it is there. The Holy Spirit is working in us, helping us to be like Jesus. Kind, caring and loving.  One of the signs that remind us of the Holy Spirit is the wind. We can't see the wind but we know it is there just like the Holy Spirit. Today we used Mrs Neilson's windmills to show this. 

Five hundred Feijoas!!
Today at Discovery Time Room 11 and 12 went exploring in the enviro area. We found many of  God's wonderful creations.We discovered hundreds of ripe feijoas. Mrs Fritchley had some special spoons with a cutting side. We enjoyed the feijoas. They were delicious and very juicy. Yum Yum.
