Maths Addition

This afternoon Room 11 were busy learning a new dice addition game. They were great at taking turns and playing by the rules. We are practising adding the two dice together and read the numerals. Dice patterns are a great way to start imaging numbers in our head, which is our next step in maths.

Reading Buddies

Room 11 are so lucky to have big buddies from Room 7 come and listen to their reading each day before lunchtime. We practise our words, browse box books and read our story writing. We get better at reading by reading, reading , reading!!

What was life like when Jesus was a boy?

Room 11 have been learning about Jesus. Today we learnt what his clothes were like. We dressed up in some clothes that were like the ones Jesus, Mary and Joseph would have worn many years ago. We learnt the names of the clothes: Mantle, girdle and tunic. We loved dressing up and here are some photos of us.

ART DECO DAY

St Mary's School enjoyed an Art Deco Celebration day today. The children all looked gorgeous dressed up in their special outfits (thank you parents for your fabulous support with this). We were lucky to have Mr and Mrs Scott bring their vintage car to share. The children decorated a long lunch table cloth that we used for our special lunch. Here are some photos.
